ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY

This team is one of the most experienced of its type in Australia, and has the knowledge and talent to hold its own against the best body engineers anywhere in the world. From iconic body styling to interior detail, from doors and windows to whole cabin systems, everything about our vehicles has to be perfect.

Safety Components, Cabin and Test is part of body interiors and you’ll be part of a unique and evolving department within Body Engineering, developing advanced safety features and strategies, and leading content delivery across many programmes. You’ll be exposed to a variety of components, sub-systems, systems, suppliers and cross-Product Development functions, playing a key part in delivering robust safety solutions to support vehicle safety targets. The virtual environment is a particularly critical role as the data derived from it will drive decisions on the overall pedestrian system and its integration with associated components.

Reporting to a Technical Specialist within the Safety Component Group, you’ll potentially work across several programmes, and take responsibility for a specific family of safety components.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Specific experience in body engineering components and standards authoring is essential for this role. You’ll be degree educated and have excellent inter-personal and communications skills. Ideally a dynamic and conscientious team players you’ll be prepared and able to work with a diverse work force.

You’ll have a logical problem-solving mind set and should be able to demonstrate an engineering design ability, able to propose and engineer a range of solutions. Body structures experience and previous Explicit CAE experience will be beneficial.
